Weightlifting 101
CrossFit Des Plaines offers an introductory Olympic Weightlifting program revolving around the Snatch, Clean, and Jerk. This program is designed for athletes who would like to take their weight lifting to the next level, as well as athletes looking to make the transition into a Performance based CrossFit program. The primary focus of this program will be positioning, technique, strength, and proficiency in the movements.
Weightlifting is very beneficial because it is a full body workout – from your shoulders, through the core, and all the way down to the feet. The skills you will learn in Olympic lifting are highly transferable to many of the CrossFit movements.
